We Are...
A select community choral ensemble committed to advancing the art of choral music by performing great works of the past and present, fostering music education, and enriching and inspiring the culture and bond of our broad community. Even though all participants bring special talents and gifts, art is achieved only through continual dedication and hard work.
We Believe...
That in a world of political, economic, and personal separation music is not a luxury but a necessity – not simply because it is the universal language or can be therapeutic, but because it is the persistent focus of humankind’s intelligence, aspiration and goodwill.
WE BELIEVE
The music we make together is a group effort. The solo performer does not exist. The art created is through unity of the participant’s minds and talents.
WE BELIEVE
That it is the performer’s responsibility to reveal or portray the composer’s artistic intent, not to interpret it.
WE BELIEVE
That the choral instrument holds a position of respect and responsibility equal to the distinction of its literature comparable to that of any other major professional.

Joel Garber (Hesston, KS) currently serves as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for the CKMC.
Joel holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Bethel College, and an Associate of Arts degree from Hesston College.
