Singer Audition Information

The Central Kansas Master Chorale (CKMC) seasons involve 3-4 concerts or events and typically runs from September-June annually.  Each concert is referred to as a “marathon” because of the short but intense rehearsal schedule.  For each concert, there are six 2.5-hour rehearsals beginning 10 days before.  All music and rehearsal materials are mailed or delivered to the singers approximately 6 weeks before the concert, allowing them time to learn and prepare the music individually. Once the chorale meets for rehearsals, focus is given to overall vocal health, sound, and musicality. Rehearsal attendance is vital to the success of the group but conflicts do arise.  Missing one rehearsal per marathon is acceptable, missing more than one may raise concern.  Be prepared to commit to the entire year’s season if you are interested in joining.
